Gay Men & Trans Women are at risk for Anal Cancer

Spoiler alert: YOU have not been screened (if you've had a colonoscopy you HAVE NOT BEEN SCREENED for anal cancer).

Get screened for FREE at Twin Cities Pride June 28-29, Booth 457 in the Living Well Section of Loring Park.

Who is eligible:

You were assigned male sex at birth (but however you identify now is cool with us)
You're age 35 or over
You have sex with men now or ever (bottom/top/verse - we love you all)
You'd be willing to come see us for a follow up appointment if you screen positive

What is it? Just a small cotton-tipped swab that you twirl around your own butthole (if you don't want to do it yourself, we have doctors & nurses standing by).

Does it hurt? Nope.

Summary of 2024

In 2024 Save The Bottoms hosted 5 community outreach events. Thanks to our grants and supporters we were able to provide FREE anal cancer screenings and HPV vaccines. 44 people received the HPV vaccine and 144 people participated in our on-site anal cancer screening event at Pride. Of the 144 people screened, 39 of them (28%) screened positive!!! Those who screened positive are currently receiving follow up care in clinic.

Through merch sales and donations we raised over $13,000 in 2024!!! Your continued support and engagement is essential to reaching more at-risk people next year.
