Screening Unit Results
Compared to the general population, gay men and trans women (especially those living with HIV) are 30-100x more likely to develop anal cancer.
Since 2023, Save The Bottoms has screened 351 gay men and trans women in Minneapolis, MN. 79 people (23%) screened positive!!! The occurrence rate of anal cancer is rising. We have the opportunity to reduce new cases of anal cancer and potential deaths, especially in the communities most impacted, by simply screening and treating early.
*Those who screened positive are currently receiving follow up care in clinic
